In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Queensland Government, is offering a range of education and training to support individuals, and small, medium and large businesses.
TAFE Queensland
There are three main training categories for both individuals and SMEs. They are then broken down into separate courses.
- Micro-credentials – Online and self directed. Each micro-course take approximately 60 mins to complete.
- Digital Literacy Essentials
- Cyber Security Essentials
- Communication Technologies for Business Success
- Digital Data Essentials
- Data Security Essentials
- Data Analysis Essentials
2. Online Skill Sets – quickly build on your existing skills or retrain in a new area without having to commit to a full qualification. Each skill set is made up of one or more industry-recognised competencies that provide you with the skills and knowledge that employers are looking for.
Eligibility criteria applies. Free skill sets are available to Queensland residents. You must be a job seeker or worker impacted by COVID-19.

3. For Small & Medium Businesses – To support micro, small and medium businesses in Queensland, TAFE Queensland has partnered with the Queensland Department of Employment, Small Business and Training to deliver a series of Financial Resilience Webinars.
Fully funded by the Queensland Government, as part of the $27 million Immediate Industry Recovery Package, they are free for eligible participants.

CQUniversity
Each online Skill Set is made up of one or more industry-recognised competencies that provide you with the skills and knowledge.
*Eligibility criteria applies. Free skill sets are available to job seekers or workers impacted by COVID-19. This program is funded by the Queensland Government.
1. Community Care –Â This online course will give you the basic skills and knowledge to work in a variety of roles, including many functions that are required for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) sector.
2. Health Support (16 weeks) –Â The Health Support Skill Set will prepare you to work in a variety of health specialities, with direct client contact.
3. Medical Assistance (12 weeks) –Â This online skill set offers you the opportunity to learn real-world skills that are in demand across the health sector.
4. Mentoring & Supervision (16 weeks)Â –Â Enhance your human resource capabilities with this concise online skill set that covers key areas of managing a team in all tourism, travel, hospitality and event sectors.
5. Food Services (20 Weeks) –Â In this Food Service Skill Set you will learn the skills to work across all tourism, travel, hospitality and event sectors suitable for small, medium or large organisation.
